Together with a
number of other parishioners the Cawston Historical Society
committee members have decided to organise a Carnival from
the 5th to the 8th
of September 2007 we have had interest from clubs and
organisations and the
event is well on the way but further help and support is
required, please contact
any member of the
Historical Society
for details.
This page will be updated
frequently and will give a full list of the activities etc.
With everyone's help
we hope to make this an event to remember.

February:-We are pleased to say that locale people and businesses have shown lots of
interest and will give Some details of
of the arranged events to date for the Cawston Carnival 2007 in our March updates.
March:-Plans continue to be made with many attractions planned such as Dog Show,
Tug of War, Worstead Weaving Exhibition, Vintage Tractor Display, Indian Dance
Display, Hog Roast, Thrashing Engine Display etc, If anybody has any suggestions
for attractions please contact one of the
Committee Members,
equally if anyone would like to help please let us know.

Battle of the Bands

July:- Programme and event tickets printed and in local
businesses.
August:-
Carnival Week for Cawston is from the 5th September to the 8th
September, the theme being “Cawston Through The Ages”. There will be
Inspire show
event on the 5th at Cawston Primary School, 6th
Salsa Night at Cawston Village Hall and 7th a concert by Cawston Band in St Agnes Church and a Battle of the Bands Competition on Oakes
Family Field. The Grand Carnival Day 11am - 5pm on the 8th September will
commence with a parade of floats through the village and many events, games and
stalls to delight on the Oakes Family Field
and
in the Village Hall. A Ceilidh in Cawston Village Hall on the evening of the 8th
will bring the week to a close
