The Society was formed following a meeting at Cawston Village Hall on Thursday 20th
The committee met for the first time on Thursday 4th May and thanked everyone for a well supported evening and for the donations received.
The inaugural meeting of the society was held on Thursday 15th June at the Cawston Village Hall.
The possibilities for the society are endless, but we need NOW to collect and collate
the history of our village so do please support this venture. “HISTORY IS ONLY
A TICK AWAY”

The Cawston Heritage Centre is in the Village Hall and is in association with the Cawston Historical Society, the Heritage Centre consists of memorabilia, photos, newspaper clippings, documents, family history, maps, books, CD's DVD's, video tapes and old property documents etc, all materials can be viewed at the Village Hall at the Historical Society meetings or by arrangement, please contact us or see any Committee Member.
Archive CD's, DVD's and Video Tapes in the archive can be viewed on the Historical Societies equipment.
History and Photos etc always wanted, please contact us or see any member of the Historical Society Committee.

Membership of the Society runs for 12 months, the joining fees are:-
Family at one address with children under 16 years £12.00.
Couple at one address - £9.00.
Aims of the Society
The Cawston Historical Society was formed to create a village Heritage Centre for the history of Cawston before it is lost.
The aims of the Society are to:-
Provide educational experiences for the local inhabitants of Cawston, Norfolk, and the surrounding area and anyone else interested in the aims of the Society.
Provide an archive with files, newspaper cuttings, documents, photos, objects, films,
tapes, maps and history of buildings etc.
Holding meetings and sorting materials and for general interest.
Making history available for future generations and for research.
Hold exhibitions and other events to promote the Society and to illustrate past and present history.
