Following a meeting at Cawston Village Hall on Thursday 20th April
2006 the CAWSTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY
was formed.
The committee met for the first time on
Thursday 4th May at Jean’s home with refreshments kindly supplied,
thank you Jean! The inaugural meeting of the society was held on Thursday 15th June
at the Cawston Village Hall.
The committee would like to thank everyone for a well supported evening and the

of each month at the Village Hall at 7pm-9pm

Thursday September 24th - Talk - George Sawer, (1550-1627) Overseer of the
Poor
& Churchwarden etc in Cawston by Chris Barringer.
Entry to each meeting will be 50p for members & £1.50 for non members to cover hire of the Village
Hall and refreshments.

Property Owners.
If you are selling or buying a property in the Parish of Cawston could you
please ask for the old deeds as they are not now required and could be
destroyed.
The Cawston Historical Society would be like to have sight of them to copy for our
records, or if you do not need them we would be very much like to store them in
the Cawston archive with any photos or information for the benefit of present
and future generations.
