Following a meeting at Cawston Village Hall on Thursday 20^th April 2006 the CAWSTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY was formed.
The committee met for the first time on Thursday 4^th May at Jean’s home with refreshments kindly supplied, thank you Jean!
The inaugural meeting of the society was held on Thursday 15^th June at the Cawston Village Hall.
The committee would like to thank everyone for a well supported evening and the donations received

	Meeting are held every fourth Thursday of each month at the Village Hall at 7 15pm-9.15pm Itinerary of Meetings.

Jan 24^th - Cawston History Night, Photos etc.

Feb 28th - Wings Over Norfolk - talk by Derek A. Edwards.

March 28^th - A Shopping Spree of Yesteryear - talk by Neil Storey.

April 25^th - History of the Royal Air Force at Swanton Morley - talk by Mr Stephen Pope.

May 23^{rd -}History Deserted Villages in Norfolk - talk by Mr Groves.

July 25th "Norfolk Summer, Making the Go-Between" talk by Christopher Hartop

Entry to each meeting is £1.00 for members, (Please bring your Membership Card) & £2.50 for non members to cover hire of the Village Hall and refreshments etc. ALL WELCOME.

The possibilities for the society are endless, but we need NOW to collect and collate the history of OUR village so do please support this venture, HISTORY IS ONLY A TICK AWAY!

Property Owners.
If you are selling or buying a property in the Parish of Cawston could you please ask for the old deeds as they are not now required and could be destroyed.

The Cawston Historical Society would be like to have sight of them to copy for our records, or if you do not need them we would be very much like to store them in the Cawston archive with any photos or information for the benefit of present and future generations.
