In Memory of the Cawston Men who gave their
lives
in the wars
1914 - 1919 and 1939 - 1945
The War Memorial at Cawston is situated in the Cemetery, (Opened in 1904)
it was erected after the first world war, about 1920, possibly funded by the
Parish Council and the British Legion, about 1950, names were added of those
who lost their lives in the second world war

The memorial was struck by lighting in July 1999, the cost of the restoration to
it's
original condition was £6,525.00,
grants of £6,067.00 was obtained including
£200.00 from the War Memorial Trust, the remainder of £458.00 was paid by the
Parish Council, the restoration work was carried out and was re-dedicated on
9th June 2001.
