About 1976
The above Football team was a mixture
of Cawston Rovers first team and Reserve team players taken about 1976. This
season the First team won the North East Norfolk Division 1 title, the North
East Norfolk Division 1 Cup and the Aylsham Charity Cup while the Reserves
won the North East Norfolk Division 3 title and were runners up in the North
East Norfolk Division 3 Cup. The players in the photo are:

Cawston youth team played in the Norfolk & Norwich Youth
league in the late 60's and early 70's, at that time the only pitch available was at the Primary School &
permission
was required for the pitch to be used on a Sunday, being a voluntary controlled school
the governors had to be persuaded, with the combination of Mr John Kett being
headmaster and taught most of the lads and having the reassurances of various
parents to monitor the games permission was granted. The team were not
successful
in gaining any 'silverware', they always played in League One and enjoyed a few
years
of being in the best five/six teams in the two leagues available.
