The Oakes Family Field

The Oakes Family Field is a community resource owned and managed by Cawston Parish Council for all the families living in the Cawston parish. A joint Project Team has been formed with the Oakes Memorial Trust and Cawston We Aim Higher Group to co-ordinate the planning and development of the field. A Master Plan has been drawn up (see diagram).

Several applications for funding have been successful meaning that in total around £150,000 has been raised. We can now develop various 'play landscapes' for toddlers, primary age children, teenagers as well as a multi purpose games area and bmxl skateboard area. We hope that most of these will be completed by the summer of 2008. We are continuing to raise funds for the completion of the Master Plan.

You might want to support the development of the Field:

·   By getting involved in the design process- we are especially keen to hear from local teenagers

·   By fund raising or volunteering to help create and! or maintain aspects of the field- for example, we need people to help plant young trees

·    By volunteering to run activities to make full use of the field now and in the longer term

·     In other ways that you might want to suggest

Please Contact the Parish Council
or with any concerns, comments or ideas about how the Field operates.

Much of the play equipment has now been installed.

Do go along and have a look at this wonderful amenity for Cawston.
Lets hope that it will be enjoyed by many children and adults alike for many, many years and that it is treated with respect.
Please take your litter home.
