Mr & Mrs. Riley’s grocery shop was situated opposite to the Westleyan Reform Chapel in Chapel Street, which had a good selection of all foodstuffs as well as fruit and vegetables  and a small room at the back for children’s clothes and all sorts of gifts such as imitation jewellery, children’s books and annuals, toys etc. In later years the shop was ran by their son and daughter in law until about 1980 who also had the shop at market hill & a mobile shop.
