2010:-

The new Air Source heating system and roof insulation at now completed. The start date had to be delayed, not for the usual reasons but because the hall was too heavily booked to allow the disruption the work would cause!

OPEN DAY on Saturday MAY 8th  for parishioners and other organisations to find out all about and admire our new green. heating system. The varied users of the Hall were represented, this was very a successful day complete with  and tea and HOME MADE CAKE!         Related Link: Village Hall History

August:-
All windows replaced and curtains in main hall and bar room replaced.

2009:-

Chill Out - Heat the Hall:-

The Village Hall committee has been successful in its grant application to Broadland District Council for funding for a new, green, Mitsubishi air source central heating system and the Insulation of the Hall. Excellent news, we now look forward to seeing real progress with the proposed improvements. We know that this is just the start of a very exciting phase of improvements for our village facilities. We are all thrilled that the extensive and time consuming efforts have proved worthwhile. Watch this space for next update.

Upgrades carried out for health and safety. New stage and storage spaces erected. Extra shelves fitted in cupboards, new window blind and storage cupboard sorted in kitchen. Roof space cleared. New Vacuum Cleaner.

2006 -
2008:-

Over the last two years you might have noticed changes to the village hall. As a committee we have been committed to upgrading the hall.

Lighting. in the main hall and kitchen sunk into the ceiling.
Additional store rooms have been created in the entrance area to enable a complete reorganization of the storage facilities. We now have a separate room for
the Cawston History Archive which is in association with the Cawston Historical Society who have their equipment in the same room, the toddlers and arts and crafts share a store adjacent to the kitchen. The storage area in the entrance area is kept for tables and chairs and for the CATs group and the Brownies.

More recently the toilets have been completely refitted thanks to funding from the Barratt Trust, Parish Council and Carnival Committee. This means that the ladies, gents and disabled toilet facilities have been refurbished. Additionally, there is now a baby changing table for the toddler group.
Security cameras/equipment have been installed outside the Village Hall.

Externally, the car park has been leveled and resurfaced, a notice board and village hall sign erected and work carried out to the exits and exit doors
, the timber fence and part of the hall have been treated.

Pre 2006

Major improvements was carried out in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Many thanks for all support for the work carried out and donations from individuals.
